Documentation of projects is as important as the projects themselves, I decided to create my own personal portfolio to highlight the accomplishments of such projects in my homelab.
I first started by purchasing the domain name “matthews-homelab.com” and selected a reliable cloud hosting platform to run my web server on, then I created a wireframe diagram of how I envisioned the website. Finally I utilized a WordPress template, tailored most elements to my liking and populated the website with content about my projects, experience, and education.
Lastly, I customized the fine details of the website of the website such as the font size, accessibility, styling and utilized numerous WordPress plugins such as WordFence Security, All in One SEO, Google Analytics, and UPDraft – Backup / Restore to improve the SEO, discoverability, reliability and security of my portfolio.
I am a firm believer in continuous learning in technology and believe that my portfolio serves as an archive of my accomplishments.
